Donald Trump Came to my School!

Donald Trump came to High Point! I had a ticket for this event but unfortunately I was not able to attend because I was sick and could not get out of bed. But I did hear that it was pretty cool. I am not a very political girl, I don’t know much about the race and I also don’t know who I’m going to vote for when it comes time too. But I did do some research so I do know what other people were saying about him coming to my school.

A lot of people hated the idea of him being here, which was expected because some people hate Donald Trump and think he is awful. Other people were more than thrilled to hear that he was coming, which was also expected. Some people thought that the school was taking the side of Donald Trump letting him come and speak on campus. That’s not the case at all, the school opened the campus to both political parties, Hilary just decided to not take it because it was too small. Which I agree so idk why Trump decided to come here, but I’m not complaining. Also by the school doing this they must have made a good amount of money from it so why not right? There were protests, also to be expected, but as I saw on campus and heard from others for the most part everything went pretty smoothly. The secret service was really on their game that day.

I did some research online and I also learned that a lot of people waited hours in long lines to get into the rally and some didn’t even get in whether they had a ticket or not. People were very upset about that. One guy drove 2 hours to see trump and couldn’t get in. Another girl that goes to High Point University couldn’t get in and she was mad because the rally was taking place on her own campus. Also there was an interview of a guy that got there at 4 am just to get in, I don’t know if he got in, I hope so, but you never know. But I guess overall the Trump rally was a success, and we can assume that of course some people won’t be too happy about the events that took place.
